A modern Mineral Museum has been inaugurated at the hands of Controller General,Indian Bureau of Mines(IBM),CP Amibesh at headquarter building of IBM.
The senior officers of the IBM and the representatives of the Unions were also present on the occassion.At the outset S R Roy,Technical Secretary,briefed about the necessity for creation of Mineral Museum at IBM.
The Mineral museum contains more than 50 varities of the minerals found in India.These include some of the rate species of Bauxite,Chromite,native cooper,Gold,Lead and Zinc.The mineral museum will be useful for the the academicians,researchers and the students of the Geology,Mining and Metallurgical disciplines.It is open for all,stated a press release.
IBM is responsible for the systematic and scientific mining,conversation of minerals and protection of environment.IBM also acts as a consultant and offer consultancy assignments in the field of geology,mineral survey,preparation of mining project,generation of environmental base linedata and preparations of environmental plans.
