The Lonar Crater was formed nearly 50,000 years ago, when a 2 million ton meteorite impacted the earth to create a depression 1.83 kilometers in diameter and 150 meters deep. Today, Lonar is an idyllic expanse of sky blue water amidst a sprawling emerald forest, which abounds in a wide variety of flora and founa.

330 km. from Nagpur on Nagpur - Dhule road (N.H.No.-6), 45 km. from Shegaon. Ambabarwa is a 127 sq.km. sanctuary adjoining the Melghat Tiger Reserve. It is the catchment area of the Wan Irrigation Project and is home to all the big wild cats.
285 km. from Nagpur, 70 km. from Aheri. This sanctuary is located at the confluence of the Indravati, Perlkota and Pamul Gautam rivers. The temple of Bhamradevi (a deity worshipped by the Gond tribals) stands here, on the banks of the Perlkota river. In the vicinity is the Gond fort, where an annual festival celebreated. The wildlife sanctuary itself occupies an area of 104 sq.km. and abounds in wildlife.
